Abstract

In this study are presented the species of Passifloraceae from Serra Negra, a part of Serra da Mantiqueira located in South Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais, in the coordinates 21°58'11"S and 43°53'21"W. The vegetation is represented by a mosaic of "campos rupestres" and semideciduous forests and rainforests. The family is represented by 12 species that belong to the genus Passiflora: P. alata Curtis, P. amethystina J.C.Mikan, P. campanulata Mast., P. capsularis L., P. edulis Sims, P. haematostigma Mart. ex Mast., P. marginata Mast., P. mediterranea Vell., P. porophylla Vell., P. sidifolia M.Roem., P. speciosa Gardner and a species not identified, probably a new taxon. To recognize the species, identification key to species, descriptions, illustrations, geographical distribution and taxonomical comments are provided.
