Abstract

The term sustainable development is often used but there are significant, if subtle, differences in what this term means to people. See also Chap. IV.3. This is especially true in forest management. For simplicity, three different viewpoints are presented to illustrate how understandings of sustainable forests differ. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
