Abstract

The cartoon characters with unique charm and excellent design not only have tremendous artistic value, but also contain huge market profits. In order to reduce the cognition difference of designers and consumers to the animation character image. This paper adopts the evaluation method of animation character image design based on kansei image, in order to find out what users thought of the characters in “Hetalia”, so as to better design its derivative products. The results show that some characters have seemingly unfavorable characteristics and are still loved by the audience. There are certain differences in kansei evaluation between character design and product design. When designing a character, a character designer does not only give the character rich advantages to attract the audience, but also needs to consider the audience’s cultural and geographical background and combine the audience’s preferences to design a charming character.
