The author discusses the outer sheath, axial fibrils, protoplasmic cylinder, cytoplasmic membrane, host-associated spirochetes (Brine Shrimp Association, Swine Dysentery, Syphilis, Skin-Lesions: Yaws, Gastrointestinal Tract, Xylophagous Insects). The review is up-to-date and concentrates especially on morphology. There are 24 electron micrographs and 239 references.
