Abstract

A three layer laminate consisting of absorbing material, conductive polymer and conductor was developed to enhance the performance of electromagnetic compatibility of a shield. In this paper, equations were developed for the estimation of reflectivity and shielding effectiveness of the three layer laminate and analysis of the laminate was carried out to investigate the electromagnetic compatibility performance. Different types of microwave absorbers and conductive polymer materials were considered for achieving optimum reflectivity and shielding effectiveness. The investigations were carried out in X-band frequency range for the three layer laminate at different thicknesses of the layers. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2010.
