Abstract

This paper presents ail nniiol.at.cd overview of existing hard- ware implement at ions of artificial neural and fuzzy systems arid points out limitations, advantages and drawbacks of analog, digital , pulse stream (spiking) and other techniques. The paper also analyzes hardware performance parameters and tradeoffs, and the bottlenecks intrinsic in several implementation methodologies. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2001.
