Abstract

Electrical-discharge machining (EDM) is solidly established in toolmaking and some types of production small-hole drilling. This report explains the fundamentals of EDM, plus some new developments that expand its capabilities. EDM applications are reviewed, and some new devices and electrode materials discussed.
