The high demands of the labour market and its fluctuating character make the continuous learning into an essential process in the career path of every person. Based on that, this study has as purpose to study the pertinence of the continuous learning initiatives offered in Spain in relation to the specific features of the collective formed by unemployed people older than 45. For this purpose, it is made a theoretical and normative approach, going round the main training initiatives, which attend the social diversity, and try to make them easier to access to employment, emphasizing on adults. It is concluded that training approaches aimed at adults have to improve experience as learning engine, providing continuous learning with sense and coherence, in this way avoiding decontextualized initiatives that may trigger reticences about training.
