(E)-2-Hexenyl (Z)-3-hexenoate, one of the three components of the sex pheromones of Riptortus clavatus, was found to attract its main parasitoid, Ooencyrtus nezarae, in soyabean fields in southern Japan. A total of 51.6 females was caught in 3 days in a sticky plate trap baited with this component, as compared with 5.0 and 0 caught in traps baited with the other two components, (E)-2-hexenyl (E)-2-hexenoate and myristyl, respectively. The number of females caught in the trap baited with the complete pheromone was 51.6.
