Abstract

– Pericardial disease is characterized pathologically by the composition of the pericardial fluid and the cellular componentsof the inflammatory exudate.– Infectious and non-infectious causes of pericarditis occur.– The pericardium may be involved by metastatic or primary neoplasms and cysts.
