Abstract

Healthy ecosystems provide vital services for urban centres as well asfor adaptation of urban communities to climate change. This paper willdescribe the value of ecosystem services and ecosystem-based adaptationfor urban centres, giving examples of the effectiveness of thisapproach. It also provides possible policy recommendations for urbanplanners and local governments.
