Abstract

A city certainly has its own characteristics in the model of settlement, one of which in the city of Banjarmasin which has the nickname "Kota Seribu Sungai". The geographical condition of the city of Banjarmasin that many rivers affect the form of settlements those are on the banks of the river, not least in the Martapura riverside settlement. To know the characteristic and identity of settlement of riverside in Banjarmasin city, it can be done typographic review. Typology of the Martapura riverside settlement area can be seen in the macro, messo and micro context. The purpose of this study is to find out the typology and morphology of the Martapura riverside settlement, the scope of discussion about the physical character of the martapore riverside settlement area, which can be seen from the macro, messo and micro scale. The result of this study is the identity of settlement of river bank of Martapura, the location of the building on the banks of the river is divided into 3, namely the river area, the riverbank area and the riverbanks, the laying of this building is very influential on the type of house and the type of foundation used. In the scope of messo there are latrines, stems and catwalks. While on the micro scale, there are 2 types of occupancy types with the type of stage and type of floating.
