Abstract

With the launch of the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission satellite, equipped with high-functioning sensors to measure precipitation, four-dimensional latent heating retrievals from satellite observation have become available. With the launch of the Global Precipitation Measurement mission Core Observatory, the latent heating retrievals are now available at higher latitudes. Algorithms of two standard NASA/JAXA products, the Spectral Latent Heating, and the Convective Stratiform Heating and some results are introduced.
