Abstract

The authors present the results of a climatic reconstruction of monthly average air temperature (Tp) values in Wrocław (Breslau) in the years 1791-1890. The reconstruction is based on verified measurement data from the Breslau-Sternwarte Observatory. The problem of restoring the homogeneity of the initial daily data was addressed due to changes that had occurred in both location and observation times. The data were verified by a comparison with the results of temperature measurements from other Silesian meteorological stations. This research is particularly important in chronicling the history of the first permanent Wroclaw and Silesian meteorological measurements. © Springer Science + Business Media B.V. 2010.
