Compares and contrasts the definitions and concepts of resiliency across multiple disciplines. The concept of resiliency as a modulatory response following removal of stressors is depicted as an inappropriate analogy for biobehavioral science, where resiliency is observed to occur despite the presence of stressors. The role of individual differences, and developmental and genetic factors are described as the salient aspects demanding attention in the biobehavioral realm.
