Abstract

In this paper, we demonstrate results of fabrication and properties of star-shaped gold nanoparticles (Au NP) and film structures based on them. The Au NP with an average size of 53 nm and a size dispersion ≥ 20% were obtained by the colloidal synthesis method. Stable film structures with different thickness based on Au nanostars were obtained by the self-assembly method from aqueous solutions. Transmission and scanning electron microscopies, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were used to study morphology, structure and composition of the obtained Au NP and films formed from Au nanostars on glass substrates. The optical properties of Au NP colloidal solutions and film structures were studied.
