The present research-in-progress has begun on January of 2010 for 30 months. The objective is to investigate economical and environmental effects of information pooling between manufacturers, retailers and consumers. The qualitative research aims at undestanding: (1) the types of IS that can enhance economical and environmental performance of retail logistics, both in BtoB and BtoC processes; (2) how data quality improvement can support pooling strategies of retail logistics in order to reduce greenhouse gases emission? 80 semi-structured interviews will be conducted to analyze information pooling in several BtoB and BtoC processes, in order to identify its measured and/or perceived effects, both economical and environmental.
