Abstract

This paper deals with the problem of product mechanical design within the framework of integrated design. It proposes a technique based on the fuzzy logic approach. The design process is divided in several sub-problems (professions or points of view : Pov). Fuzzy approach allows the comparison of the PoV to each other and the final solution emerges through a global compromise. This approach allows the design process to be distributed in parallel tasks. The neural network (NN) tool is used in order to encapsulate data and the analysis of each design PoV. So it allows a flexible decision making in design process. Numerical advantage of this approach is discussed.
