Abstract

The two faces of curium: The first curium borate has been prepared showing a complex structure with coordination environments for Cm III that are found in both Pu III and Am III borates (see picture). Time-resolved laser-induced photoluminescence studies as well as X-ray diffraction experiments show two distinct Cm III sites with different coordination environments. © 2012 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
