Abstract

This chapter outlines the research design of the thesis and it introduces the methods that help to carry out the analysis. As a first step, the chapter operationalizes security theory. Hereby, the focus lies on the different depictions of security from a traditional security perspective and a human security perspective. In a second step, this chapter recapitulates the theoretical strands of organizational theory and derives a list of assumptions from the theoretical groundwork of Chap. 3. Following these preliminary steps, the chapter presents the processes of data collection and data analysis. Therefore, this chapter elaborates on why this thesis uses the methods of qualitative expert interviews and qualitative content analysis.
