In the twenty-first century, with the rapid development of economy and science and technology, China is striving to build an environment-friendly society. Electric energy is one of the clean energy sources. The power supply mode of water conservancy project production has received national attention and policy support. Faced Rockfill Dam (CFRD) is one of the most prominent dam types in the field of water resources in China. It has the characteristics of high safety factor, convenient material acquisition and suitable cost. It is these characteristics that make it gradually favored by various builders in the field of water resources. However, there are still many shortcomings in the construction of the traditional face rockfill dam. In order to realize the optimal design of the face rockfill dam’s prevention and drainage, this paper introduces BIM technology and simulation technology, studies the related theories, and then analyses the existing problems of the optimization of the traditional face rockfill dam’s prevention and drainage, and puts forward some suggestions for improvement. The improvement measures can effectively improve the traditional problems and improve the work efficiency of the anti-water and drainage optimization project.
