Abstract

The paper presents a new approach to design power system stabilizer via genetic algorithms. The optimum settings of the stabilizer parameters associated with selected set of grid points in the active/reactive power domain, are computed offline by minimizing an objective function. A single machine infinite bus system is considered to demonstrate the suggested technique.
