Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the influence of some parameters related with the permanent magnet motor control, which are being considered as an attractive alternative for electrical vehicle application where it is important to minimize the losses to increase the vehicle autonomy. In this paper, the attention is focused on the selection of the speed controller parameters and its impact both in mechanical losses as in the corresponding torque-speed trajectories. Moreover, the dependency of the switching frequency over the total losses in the motor-converter device is shown. The analysis determines the optimum value for the switching frequency and the results are compared with commercial servos. © 2011 IFIP International Federation for Information Processing.
