Abstract

Focus groups are a tool for the collection of information that allow to understand the participants’ perspective about phenomena that surround them from the approach of the qualitative methodology, moving forward in deepening in their experiences, opinions and meanings. In recent years, an increase in the use of this technique has taken place in the field of health sciences. This article presents the main points to be considered in terms of planning, organization and analysis of collected data by means of focus groups, through the presentation of three examples applied in different studies related to health research, in the pursuit of a systematization and objectification which encourage a greater accuracy in the use of this tool in fields related to psychosciences and their field researches.
