Abstract

A revision of the Neotropical Haemodoraceae is given comprising four genera: Lachnanthes, Pyrrorhiza, Schiekia, and Xiphidium. The first three genera are monotypic whereas Xiphidium is represented by two species. Schiekia orinocensis is composed of two subspecies; S. orinocensis subsp. silvestris Maas & Stoel is herein described as new. All (sub)species are fully illustrated. The introduction includes a paragraph dealing with the micromorphology of the seeds illustrated by SEM photographs. /// A revisão das Haemodoraceae neotropicais é presentada contendo quatros gêneros: Lachnanthes, Pyrrorhiza, Schiekia, e Xiphidium. As primeiros tres gêneros são monotípicos, enquanto Xiphidium é representado por duas espécies. Schiekia orinocensis se manifesta com duas subespécies e a subsp. silvestris Maas & Stoel é descrita aqui como nova. Todas as (sub)espécies são amplamente ilustradas. A introduçâo inclui um parágrafo com SEM fotografias da micromorfologia das sementes.
