Abstract

To merge with multimedia technology, IT and educational science, Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) applied in English teaching has displayed its incomparable advantages as a modern teaching technology. This paper analyzes the current situation of English teaching for non-English-major postgraduates, illustrates the functions of CAI in English teaching for non-English-major postgraduates based on the theory of constructivism, and puts forward a new teaching model with the application of CAI, for the purpose of transforming thoroughly the traditional cramming teaching so as to improve the quality education. Some problems involved in the application of CAI are also discussed. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.
