Abstract

The Internet has become an important part of our cultural heritage. The new Austrian Media Law became operative in March 2009. This amendment to the law is the legal basis for web archiving and governs the collection of online publications. The Austrian National Library is pursuing with the Web Archiving initiative the goal of collecting and archiving the ''Austrian internet''. Usage of the web archive will be possible at the Austrian National Library and at several other libraries. (English) [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
