This study aims to analyze the practice of educational planning in Physical Education in public schools in Juazeiro (BA) and Petrolina (PE). 12 physical education teachers, from both municipalities, participated as subjects of the study. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the teachers. The results show that the cultural practice of school planning has advanced, but remains associated with regulatory factors, as the formal fulfillment of tasks at the institution. We point to the need for development of this practice, which should take place collectively and be based on the pedagogical perceptions.
