Abstract

The characteristic spines on the surface of the schistosome flatworm tegument consist o f hexagonally packed actinfilaments . Electron microscopy of isolated spines shows that their structure is very similar to that of other bundles of actin cross-linked with an additional protein. © 1982, Rockefeller University Press., All rights reserved.
