Abstract

The goals of modern surgery of the breast are improved shape, symmetry, good function and sensibility and minimal visible scarring. Over 22 years of surgical practice reduction mammaplasties were initially performed with the inverted T technique [1, 2]; however, it was realized that, besides the long scar, the breast ended up with no projection or shape. After this period, authors started to perform oblique or L incisions [3]-[9], which eliminated the medial branch of the scar, quite often the one with the worst aesthetic quality. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
