Abstract

This entry emphasizes the key mechanisms influencing cohesive sediment transport in coastal waters. These processes are complex because of the interaction between the physico-chemical properties of the sediment and flow parameters. Mathematical modeling provides a tool to assess the impact of the predominant processes on the transport and fate of sediments discharged to coastal water bodies.
