Abstract

This chapter looks at the pregnant mind and the journey women make throughout their pregnancies before they make a leap of faith into motherhood, describing the anatomy and pathophysiology of fear and the influence of pregnancy hormones. This chapter will identify the psychological vulnerability of women and their bodies which may influence the choices they make about pregnancy and birth.
