This chapter describes a sensor network for signal processing and distributed computing. In such a network, the sensors do not necessarily transfer the collected data to the user right away but cooperate to inspect the data in a shorter time for the desired information conveying the result to the user. As an example, the computation of a system of linear equations is given performed on the newly introduced openSensor. The hardware design and the developed software are made freely available. © 2007 Springer.
