Abstract

Capping is the process of applying a cap or closure to close or seal a rigid or semi-rigid container. The cap can be made of plastic or metal. The container can be glass, plastic or metal and can be round, oval, square of rectangular, or literally any shape which can be conveyed on a production line. This article discusses methods of applying these closures, including torque control in spindle cappers and straight-line cappers, and special capper applications.
