Abstract

This paper presents specification of the agent monitoring system, responsible for supervision of the network elements (switches, workstations). Mechanism described below, handles passive role in aspects of the network administration. It is dedicated for monitoring predefined system statistics of the network members (hosts, switches, routers, etc.), like CPU usage, memory usage, network traffic. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
