Abstract

A comprehensive digitisation roadmap should not be established in isolation, but rather developed as an integral part of a long-term company-wide strategic planning process. Therefore a holistic framework for structuring digital transformation is being proposed, which comprises four focus areas and two cross-cutting themes. For each theme, the necessary steps for implementation are deepened in this chapter. For example, a solution concept for an integration platform as a basis for Connected Services and new digital products is presented, and is also developed for in-house platforms for financial, purchasing and personnel services. Prototype-free development and Industry 4.0 are further focal themes to be addressed in a structured manner.
