Abstract

Positron emission tomography (PET) is a nuclear imaging technique that can yield information on the temporal and spatial dynamics of various disease-specific or drug-induced biological alterations in intact tissues and living organisms. In this chapter we elucidate how this information can be generated and used in brain tumor animal models to give insight into tumor characteristics and guide anticancer treatment. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York.
