Abstract

Introduction: The performance of athletes is determined by variables that include physical condition, technical ability, body composition, somatotype and specific anthropometric characteristics according to the position in the field of play, therefore, the present work seeks to identify the anthropometric profile and somatotype in soccer children according to position in the field of play. Materials and methods: The sample was 240 to which an anthropometric assessment was made following the protocol proposed by the ISAK. The analysis of the information was carried out in the SPSS program, version 23. Results: Within the results, statistically significant differences were found between the positions and the BMI, body fat and% muscle weight, with the archers being the ones with the highest BMI%, body fat, and weight are the highest, being values significantly higher compared to the other game positions. Conclusions: It is concluded that variables such as the anthropometric profile and the somatotype are important when choosing and deciding the position of the player in the field of play, since you can enter advantage or disadvantage in some measures such as the size of the archers.
