The first Danish inquiry into child abuse and neglect at children’s homes was the Godhavn Inquiry, the results of which were presented in a report on 9 May 2011 (Rytter, 2011). Financed by the Ministry of Social Affairs, it was an independent investigation of complaints raised by members of the Care Leaver Association of Godhavn’s Boys against the Godhavn’s Boys’ Home and 18 other Danish children’s homes, conducted by the authors and their colleagues from the Welfare Museum of Svendborg.
