Abstract

In the present study, a novel method to create a discontinuous gaseous interface is developed by the soap film technique for the RM instability study. The formed interface by the new method is free of supporting mesh and its initial shape can be accurately described in mathematics. Therefore, the initial condition can be well controlled.
