The ethyl acetate fraction of limus ntaks (Mangifera foetida Lour.) was reported to have very strong antioxidant potential, so that the ethyl acetate fraction of limus seeds was very potential to be developed into herbal medicine. In addition to effectiveness, a condition that must be met in the development of herbal medicines is proof of safety. This study aims to determine the safety of the ethyl acetate fraction of limus seeds by observing the effect of subchronic administration on the liver and kidneys through the parameters of body weight, SGOT, SGPT, and creatinine levels. The research method used is in accordance with the provisions of the toxicity test set by the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). 40 white rats consisting of 20 male rats and 20 female rats were randomly grouped into 4 groups, namely normal control group (CMC Na 1%), test dose group I (4.2 mg/200 g BW rats), test dose group II (8.4 mg/200 g BW rats), and satellite (8.4 mg/200 g BW rats). The ethyl acetate fraction of limus seed was administered orally once a day for 28 days. The results showed that the administration of the ethyl acetate fraction of limus seeds did not significantly affect body weight, SGOT, and SGPT (P>0.05), while the results of the examination of creatinine levels showed a significant difference with lower levels than the control (P<0 ,05). Based on the results, concluded that the administration of the ethyl acetate fraction of limus seeds is safe for liver and kidney function in white rats of the wistar strain.
