Abstract

In recent years, Micro Assembly has been identified as a critical technology in the promising Micro Systems Technology (MST). Most of the researchers have been working on miniaturization of parts and assembly and this paper describes the micro assembly with simulation in the digital environment. Miniaturization of machine tool leads to enormous saving in energy, space, time and resources in micro assembly, Micro Lens Module Assembly taken as an example to describe the digital simulation which arranged in rectangular pattern. In order to construct the micro factory, ultra small machine tools were arranged in required process sequence with resources and the digital simulation has been carried out for the micro factory using 3D CAD system, recyclable estimation also done with the digital simulation of the micro factory. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2007.
