Abstract

The dependencies of the yields of O2+ and O22+ on the angle between the polarization of the intense laser field and the molecular axis of O2 were investigated by aligning O2 molecules non-adiabatically by an ultrashort intense laser pulses. From the observed angular dependencies, the mechanisms of single and double ionization processes are discussed.
