Abstract

One of the major concepts of Ubuntu emphasizes the role of solidarity. Considering the Roman Catholic ethical tradition can enlighten the meaning of the role of solidarity in global bioethics. I have selected Roman Catholic Socio-ethical tradition as an example of one of the oldest and organized discourse in global bioethics and ethics of care. Even though the actual names of such discourses have seldom been used in catholic social teaching literature, the substance of the teaching by large concerns ethics of care and global bioethics.
