Abstract

Founding Chairman of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (1961-1988) and the first Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts (1965-1969), Roger L. Stevens (1910-1998) produced twenty different musicals, most notably West Side Story(1957), 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue (1976), and Annie (1977).
