SIFAT FISIK MEKANIK PAPAN DARI LIMBAH KULIT KAYU GALAM

Abstract

Galam wood (Melaleuca leucadendra), used as a building material, charcoal, and firewood. But galam bark wood stripping results has not utilized. The purpose of research was to determine the physical mechanical properties board from mix galam bark with cement. Bark galam is cut into pieces with a length of 2 cm, 4 cm and 6 cm, washed with water and dried naturally air dried until the moisture content Board making from mix galam bark wood and cemet with composition 1:1, 1:1,5 and 1:2. Parameters tested, namely the absorption of water, the development of thick, density, modulus of rupture / MOR, modulus of elasticity /MOE and tensile strength.The treatment repeated 3 times.The average value of the absorption of water for 2 hours 5.60 to 14.25 %. Developing thick for 2 hours 2.01 to 18.23 %. Density of 1.11 to 1.20 gr/cm 3. Modulus of rupture/ MOR 25.96 to 79.26 kg/cm 2. Modulus of elasticity/MOE 2551.04 to 38181.07 kg/cm 2 , and tensile strength 0.40 to 0.51 kg/cm 2 .
