Abstract

All too often for black women, theorizing difference is a matter of life and death. It is my hope that this study has offered a historical as well as textual context for thinking about strategies for black women’s health, survival and well-being. The works of Octavia Butler, Nnedi Okorafor and Nalo Hopkinson demand an ethical reorientation when it comes to issues of difference and health.
