Convective dynamics is an important area of scientific inquiry to which research, employing the use of radar, has made substantial contributions. Historically, radar data have contributed to studies of precipitating convection and convective processes in the clear, planetary boundary-layer (PBL). Owing to the material covered by other panels, our remarks here are confined to moist convection and interactions between moist convection and the undisturbed PBL.
