Abstract

Outlines the market place for geographic information systems and the common data types handled by them before discusssing three-dimensional representations in some detail. A typology of 3-D data and a proposed super-set of 3-D GIS functionality is given. Data quality and visualisation problems and the SIMGEOL project are discussed. -S.J.Stone
