Abstract

Metabolic disorders including diabetes mellitus, amyloidosis, and atherosclerosis are widespread in our population and, when untreated, can often result in chronic kidney disease. Early diagnosis and treatment therefore are essential. Recognition of dermatologic manifestations of these diseases is becoming increasingly relevant, both for early diagnosis and appropriate treatment of complex disorders.
